GREEN BAY – The men's soccer team was defeated by the Green Bay Phoenix on a cold Wednesday night by the final score of 3-1. The Titans are now 5-9-1 overall with a 1-4-1 mark in the Horizon League.
Moustafa Bazzi scored the lone goal of the game for Detroit. Bazzi fired a shot to the top right corner of the net to make the game 3-1.
Matt Ybarra picked up his second assist of the season on the goal.
Sam Krenzien was the impact player of the game for the Phoenix. Krenzien scored his third, fourth, and fifth goals of the season to give Green Bay a 3-0 victory.
Krenzien broke the tie with a header goal early in the first half. Lawrence Talery served the ball from the left side to the middle of the field which gave him the assist on the score. Krenzien pushed the lead to 2-0 with a breakaway goal in the 24
th minute of play.
Krenzien completed the hat trick in the second half off an assist from Luke Goodnetter. Green Bay finished the game with 20 total shots and seven corner kicks.
Anthony Shepherd made three stops in the game for the Titans. Ryan Wehking made two for the Phoenix.
Detroit will host the Butler Bulldogs on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 2:00 p.m. The home season finale will serve as senior day for the Titans. A pregame ceremony will recognize
