Former Titan standout
Willie Green has signed with the NBA's Atlanta Hawks, according to reports. Green, who played last season with the New Orleans Hornets, was an unrestricted free agent and signed with the Hawks Thursday.
Green averaged 8.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 77 games with New Orleans last year. Notably, Green hit his first 12 shots (a franchise record) in an April 8
th performance that netted him a season-high 31 points. The 2003 Horizon League Player of the Year spent his first seven seasons with Philadelphia before joining the Hornets for the 2010-11 campaign.
Green's next regular season game will be the 500
th of his career. The 30-year-old has averaged 9.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists for his career. Green played at Detroit from 1999-2003, leading the Titans to an NCAA tourney berth and two NIT tournaments including a NIT Final Four berth in 2001.
