The Titans scored the first goal of the game as
Otieno Victor connected on his team-high third goal of the season in the 35th minute of action. Victor blasted a shot from 20 yards out into the top left corner of the net. The lead didn't last long however as Tyler Arnone tied the game with an unassisted goal just over four minutes later.
The rain continued to pour down as the two teams ended the first half tied at 1-1. Michigan got off to a nice start to the second half by scoring a goal in the 51st minute of the game. Etienne Lussiez's first goal was a result from good defense. He swiped the ball from a Detroit defender and made them pay as he gave the blue and maize a 2-1 lead.
Lussiez's second goal was off an assist from Fabio Pereira, and his final goal of the game was unassisted as he moved right to left to find the bottom left corner of the net sealing the win for Michigan. The junior came into Wednesday's game with zero goals, but he left Titan Field with three as the Wolverines improved to 2-4-1 overall.
Each team used two goalkeepers during Wednesday's contest. Adam Grinwis played 82 minutes as the keeper for the Wolverines before exiting to the bench, allowing Gabe Grinstein to finish off Detroit. The Titans were forced to change goalkeepers after a red card was issued to
Anthony Shepherd in the second half.
Shepherd came out hard to make a play on the ball and instead ended up contacting a Wolverine player which resulted in the card.
Martin Robertson got his first action of the season as a result. Shepherd made three saves against Michigan, while Robertson came away with one.
