DETROIT (10/3/12)- The Detroit Titans dropped their first game in four matches after Oakland scored four goals in the second half to win, 4-0, Wednesday at Titan Field.
UDM (5-5) held the momentum early keeping the ball in the Grizzlies half of the field.
Adam Bedell and
Matt Harkema both got shots off and the Titans' defense held OU without a shot for nearly 30 minutes.
The Grizzlies (7-3) responded and fired five shots but
Nathan Steinwascher made two saves and the defense blocked another to keep the score knotted at zero going into the half.
OU came out of halftime firing getting three shots off in the first five minutes. Steinwascher made a pair of saves and the third ball sailed high to keep the game scoreless.
Oakland kept the pressure on Detroit's defense and got on the board with a goal at the 58:49 mark. The Grizzlies added a second goal to make it 2-0 with 33:41 left to play in the game.
Detroit's
Kevin Pinkos took a corner kick at the 77:44 mark and Bedell was able to fire a shot but OU's keeper made the diving save.
Oakland added a goal in the 84th minute and another tally in the 85th minute of play.
Detroit will be in action again when it travels to Michigan State on Wednesday, October 10 at 7:00 p.m
