Titans Announce Addition of Chris Jenkins to Basketball Roster

DETROIT (1/9/14) – University of Detroit Mercy head men's basketball coach Ray McCallum is pleased to announce the addition of Detroit native Chris Jenkins to the 2013-14 roster. Jenkins, a graduate of the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy, will join the Titans after transferring from the University of Colorado, where he redshirted during his freshman campaign.

"Jenkins is a versatile player who can play at both ends of the court and comes from a winning program under Pat Donnelly at U of D Jesuit," said McCallum. "He is also a good student of the game who is capable of playing many positions, which is a big asset in this league."

Jenkins was a three-star prospect on Rivals.com, after averaging 20 points and nine rebounds per game during his senior year at U of D Jesuit. He helped lead the Cubs to a 14-7 record and to the MHSAA District #21 championship game, where he finished with 20 points. Jenkins was named first-team All-State by MLive.com; third team All-State as a junior and was also first-team Detroit News as a senior. A three-time All-Catholic League first-team selection, Jenkins was one of 10 finalists for the Mr. Basketball Award in Michigan.
