Frederick-Childress Tabbed HL Freshman Of The Week

INDIANAPOLIS (2/10/2014) -- After nearly posting a double-double and helping the Titans win their first conference game, freshman Minisha Frederick-Childress was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week on Monday.

Frederick-Childress tallied 10 points, a career-high nine rebounds and four assists as UDM upended Milwaukee, 80-68, on Saturday on Dick Vitale Court. She also added a steal in 33 minutes of work.

Originally from Flint, but she played her last three years of high school ball in North Mankato, Minn., Frederick-Childress was inserted into the starting line-up four games ago and is averaging 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.0 steals in that span with a career high 11 points and six assists at Youngstown State and the 10-point outing with nine boards against the Panthers.

Frederick-Childress is the second Titan freshman to earn the honor this season following Megan Galloway back on Dec. 2.

The Titans will be back in action on Thursday as Rivalry Week takes Detroit to Rochester to face Oakland. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m., at the Athletics Center O' rena.
