VANCOUVER (8/15/14) - The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team improved to 2-0 on its #VancouverTrip following an 86-78 win over the University of British Columbia Friday night at War Memorial Gym.

Four Titans scored in double figures led by senior forward
Juwan Howard Jr. who finished with 18 points, while his classmate
Patrick Onwenu pitched in 15 points for the second-straight game. Sophomore guards
Matthew Grant and
Jarod Williams scored 12 points apiece, while combining for 15 rebounds.

Onwenu also grabbed seven rebounds while recording a game-high five blocked shots.

The Titans will play two more games against Canadian college teams, including the University of Fraser Valley on Sunday, August 17, who finished fourth last season in the Canada West (and ranked top ten nationally). The game is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. ET at the Envision Athletic Centre.
