Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Detroit Falls to Wright State on Senior Day

DETROIT, Mich. (10/30/15) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team gave up an early goal and could not overcome the deficit as the Titans fell 2-0 to Wright State on Senior Day Friday afternoon from Titan Field.

Prior to the start of the Titans' regular season finale, the careers of Jennifer Borawski, Martha Dunbar, Alyssa Lotito, Ellyn Nedwicki, Sara Zawacki and Tatum Zurawski were honored for their contributions to the UDM women's soccer program.

The Raiders struck first in the 21st minute as Bryce Hueber blasted a perfectly placed shot from 25 yards out into the top left corner of the goal.

Trailing 1-0, the Titans generated plenty of scoring chances but could not find the back of the net. Detroit outshot Wright State 6-2 in the opening frame and finished with a 14-10 edge in shots.

With Detroit mounting a furious comeback, the visitors added an insurance goal in the 84th minute as the Titans misplayed a ball at the back line and Sarah Colvin gathered the ball for a point-blank look at goal.

The Raiders would hold on to the lead to pick up the hard-fought road victory. The win guarantees Wright State the fourth seed in the Horizon League Tournament. Meanwhile, Detroit falls just short of a HL Tournament berth in seventh place.
