LEXINGTON, Ky. (11/3/2015) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer team dropped just its second match in the past 14 contests, falling at nationally-ranked Kentucky by a 4-0 margin on Tuesday night. The No. 12-ranked Wildcats tallied two goals in the first half and added two more goals in the second half.

Detroit (6-4-8 overall) tallied two shots in the match -- one off the foot of Tyler Moorman in the first half and the other by freshman forward Paul Wiedmaier in the second frame. Kentucky finished with a total of 20 shots for the contest.

Senior goalkeeper Nathan Steinwascher made his 16th start of the season in net for the Titans, turning away five shots. Steinwascher had entered the match as the Horizon League leader in total saves and saves per game.

Kentucky (11-3-2) scored just after Moorman pushed a shot wide in the 16th minute. Kentucky tallied its first goal as Sam Miller found the back of the net. The Wildcats added another just before halftime in the 42nd minute off a goal by Kristoffer Tollefsen. Andrew McKelvey wrapped up the scoring for Kentucky, tallying two goals in the second half, in the 52nd and 59th minutes.

Detroit, which entered the game No. 10 in the NSCAA Great Lakes regional rankings, was playing in its final regular season road and non-conference match this year. Detroit finished the road schedule with an even record at 3-3-3.

The Titans return to the pitch Friday for its final regular-season game. Detroit earns a spot in the Horizon League Championships with a win or a draw against Belmont and can finish as high as No. 4 in the standings. UDM would host a game if it earns the No. 4 seed.
