PEORIA, Ill. (11/18/2016) -- Forward Kelsey Mitchell recorded her first career double-double with the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team, but the Titans dropped a 70-60 road contest at Bradley on Friday. It was the third-straight game away from Detroit to begin the 2016-17 campaign.

Mitchell had 12 points and a career-high 16 rebounds, while senior guard Rosanna Reynolds tallied a team-best 14 points and a career-best-tying five steals. Junior forward Brianne Cohen added 11 points and six boards for the Titans.

The Titans (1-2) scored the first four points of the game, but Bradley scored the next nine to take a 9-4 lead at the first media timeout. The Braves (1-2) led after the first quarter, 14-7, as the Titans connected on just two field goals in the stanza.

Detroit Mercy shot 52 percent in the second quarter, out-scoring Bradley 20-11 to take a 27-25 halftime lead. Cohen had nine of her 11 points by the break, and seven different Titans contributed points in the second stanza to help give Detroit Mercy a lead at the break.

It was a back-and-forth battle in the third quarter, with Mitchell doing a lot of damage for the Titans. She scored eight-straight points for Detroit Mercy during the third, grabbing multiple offensive rebounds, but Bradley was able to regain the lead, 45-41.

Reynolds opened the fourth quarter with a bucket to cut the lead to two points, 45-43, but Bradley answered with a make of its own. A minute later, freshman Anja Marinkovic converted on an old-fashioned 3-point play, but the Braves followed with a bucket to go up six points. Bradley would then hit a 3-pointer with 6:47 left in the contest to increase its advantage to nine points.

The Titans cut the Bradley lead down to four, 57-53, after junior guard Nicole Urbanick went hard to the hole, making the shot and the ensuing free throw after she was fouled. The Braves began to pull away, however, scoring the next five points, upping the lead again to nine. Reynolds scored 10 points in the final quarter, but Detroit Mercy couldn't complete the comeback.

Detroit Mercy shot 32.9 percent from the floor during the game, including 3-of-24 from beyond the 3-point arc. Detroit Mercy had 11 steals in the contest, with five swipes coming from Reynolds -- four in the first quarter alone.

Bradley was only called for 12 fouls in the contest, resulting in eight free throws for the Titans and Detroit Mercy converted on 7-of-8 at the line.

Sophomore guard Brittney Jackson dished out a career-high six assists in the contest, while the Titans also had eight blocks. Detroit Mercy came into the game with just three rejections on the year, but seven different players had blocks for the Titans on the day.

Mitchell did all of her work in just 22 minutes of play. She had seven offensive rebounds.
