DAYTON, Ohio (1/27/2017) -- Senior guard Rosanna Reynolds scored 21 points and the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team shot 47-percent in Friday's game at Wright State, but the Titans fell on the road against the Raiders by a 77-69 margin from the Nutter Center.

Detroit Mercy (10-10 overall, 6-3 Horizon League) maintained the lead for much of the first three quarters of the game after a hot-shooting first-half where the Titans shot 57 percent (16-for-28). The Titans and Raiders played back-and-forth for much of the third quarter with Wright State holding a five-point advantage after three.

Wright State took a seven-point lead with 9:04 left in the game, but Detroit Mercy cut the lead down to two points, 66-64, using a 6-2 run that was capped off by a Nicole Urbanick 3-pointer with 4:52 remaining. It would be as close as the Titans would get, however, with Wright State pulling away in the final minutes and hitting free throws to seal the win.

Reynolds shot 9-of-14 from the field and added five rebounds and five assists, the 13th game of five or more assists this season. Juniors Brianne Cohen (5-for-7 on field goals) and Nicole Urbanick (three triples) each added 13 points for the Titans.

The Titans shot better than 40 percent from the floor for the third-straight game and seventh out of nine in Horizon League play, finishing with a 47.4 percent shooting clip (27-for-57). Detroit Mercy sank eight 3-pointers in the game, six of them in the first half and tallied 15 assists.

Detroit Mercy came out on fire from the floor in the first half, shooting 66 percent (10-of-15 on field goals) in the opening quarter and 57 percent in the first half to hold a three-point halftime lead, 42-39.

The Titans hit four 3-pointers in the first quarter -- with freshman Anja Marinkovic and sophomore Brittney Jackson hitting back-to-back triples -- in the middle of the stanza. Detroit Mercy scored 26 points in the first and used a 10-4 run in the middle of the second to go up eight points, 40-32, with 5:03 left. Urbanick and Reynolds each knocked down treys in the run. Eight different Titans scored in the opening 20 minutes, with Urbanick hitting two triples to lead Detroit Mercy with 10 points at the break.

The two teams quickly traded buckets early in the third quarter with Reynolds hitting a jumper, followed by back-to-back makes down low by Cohen. Reynolds then added another two points, converting on a lay-up to give Detroit Mercy a four-point lead, 50-46, with 5:48 left in the third. Wright State scored the next five points before Marinkovic drilled a 3-pointer from the wing. The Raiders went on a 9-2 run, however, to end the third and hold a five-point lead after three.

Urbanick's third triple of the game pulled Detroit Mercy to within two, 66-64, with 4:52 left, but Wright State used a 7-1 run to go up eight points with just 56 seconds left on the clock. Reynolds converted on a pair of jumpers in the final minute, but WSU was strong from the free throw line, sinking 9-of-12 in the final quarter and 20-of-25 (80 percent) for the game.

Senior Haleigh Ristovski finished with a team-best six boards, adding five points, while Marinkovic knocked down two 3-pointers and had six points. Jackson totaled five points and three assists and sophomore Gracie Roberts added three dimes for the Titans.

With eight triples made, it marked the 12th game of the season in which Detroit Mercy has sank eight or more. Detroit Mercy also tallied its 10th game of the season with 15 or more assists and 11th contest with four or more blocks.

The 47.4-percent shooting mark was the third-best of the season only behind Detroit Mercy's percentages vs. UIC (54.1 percent) and at Minnesota (48.0 percent).

Urbanick moved into sole possession of sixth place on the career 3-pointers made list, moving past former Titan Shari Hill with 173 career treys. Reynolds moved into sixth place all-time in Titan history in field goals made (566) and with five more assists is just eight back of the all-time career assists mark of 515, held by Jalesa Jones.
