GREEN BAY, Wisc. (2/26/2017) --Â Freshman
Corey Allen posted his ninth 20-point game of the season with a game-high 24 points, but Green Bay was able to prevail as the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team fell, 89-81, at the Resch Center on Sunday afternoon.
The loss combined with some other Horizon League results means that Detroit Mercy will be the seventh seed in the upcoming Horizon League Championship and will play the 10th-seeded Milwaukee Panthers on Friday at 5:30 p.m., at Joe Louis Arena.Â
Allen scored 17 of his 24 in the second half as he was 8-of-16 from the field, 4-of-8 from behind the arc and 4-of-5 at the free throw line, all while pulling down four rebounds and coming away with two steals.

Green Bay (18-12, 12-6 HL) led by six, 68-62, with 8:23 left when Detroit Mercy (8-22, 6-12 HL) started to mount a comeback with an 11-2 spurt. Allen was the offensive catalyst as he hit a 3-pointer to start the charge. After a basket by Green Bay, Allen had another basket and then a triple for him tied it at 70-70 with 6:51 left.
Allen connected again from long range to give the Titans a 73-70 lead and later on, two free throws by Robinson Jr., had Detroit Mercy ahead by three again, 75-72, with 5:15 remaining.
The Phoenix was able to recover and eventually got the lead back and some free throws down the stretch kept the Titans at bay.

DeShawndre Black netted seven points.
The Titans forced 19 total turnovers and were 21-of-24 (87.5%) at the free-throw line and were 10-of-25 from behind the arc.Â
It was high scoring right from the start as Hogan began the day with back-to-back baskets. The Titans later extended their lead to seven as senior
Chris Jenkins knocked in a 3-poinetr and Robinson Jr., nailed one of his three triples in the first half for a 15-8 advantage with 14:23 left.
The game was tied at 22-22 with 7:26 on the clock in the half when Detroit Mercy went on a 10-1 run to open its biggest lead of the game, 32-23. Hogan started that with a pair of free throws and after a free throw from Blackshear Jr., Black hit a trey for a 28-22 lead. After a free throw by Green Bay, Blackshear Jr., sprinted down the floor and laid it in and Allen came up with a steal and a bucket for the 32-23 lead with 4:29 remaining in the period.
The Phoenix was able to climb back in with a run of its own, but a jumper from Jenkins with less than 10 seconds left gave the red, white and blue a 45-41 lead at the break.
The first half saw 27 total fouls called as Detroit Mercy shot 41.4 percent from the floor with six triples as well as 15-of-17 (88.2%) at the free throw line. The defense also forced 12 turnovers.Â
