Morgan Girardi and
Lexie Kinmond each tallied seven points Sunday afternoon and the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team earned its third-straight victory with a 19-5 triumph on the road at Delaware State.
Girardi totaled career-bests with six goals and seven points. Kinmond notched the third, seven-point game of the season and second-straight on four goals and three assists. Juniors
Jordyn Beam (two goals, one assist) and
Jessica Snyder (one goal, two assists) and sophomore
Emma Leszczak (two goals, one assist) all added three points, while senior
Kelsi Pritchard scored two markers for the Titans.
Detroit Mercy (5-11, 3-6 ASUN) earned its third-straight ASUN victory and second consecutive in three days away from home. The Titans scored a combined 39 goals in their two victories over the weekend, while allowing just 10.
Girardi and Kinmond combined for nine goals in the first half Sunday with the Titans taking an 11-3 lead at the break. After DSU scored first, Detroit Mercy scored six of the next seven markers -- three by Kinmond and three by Girardi -- to take a 6-2 lead. The Titans continued their offensive pressure in the second half, scoring four goals in the first six minutes of the second. Junior
Brianna Plester scored from Kinmond and Snyder followed off a feed from Girardi. Pritchard then followed with a pair of goals to put Detroit Mercy up 15-3 with 24:05 left in the contest.
Girardi scored her sixth marker of the game with 8:13 left and Leszczak closed out the scoring with a pair of goals in the final minutes of the contest. It was the third-straight win with the Titans scoring 15 or more goals.
Girardi was efficient on free-position shots during the game, scoring on 4-of-5 attempts and upping her season total to 16 free-position goals. She also had a career-high four caused turnovers and tallied three ground balls and two draw controls. The six goals tied a single-season Detroit Mercy high, set earlier in the season by classmate
Kaitlyn Wandelt.
Kinmond had her second-straight game of four goals and three assists and reached a new career-best with 65 points on the season. Kinmond has scored four goals in each of the past four games and has 25 points in that stretch.
Castner and Plester each finished the contest with one goal and one assist. Junior defender
Emma Mucci led the squad with four draw controls, which Kinmond added three DC for the Titans. Mucci and Kinmond also each had three caused turnovers, while freshman
Tegan McManus added three ground balls and two caused turnovers for Detroit Mercy.

Allison McDonough turned away seven shots in net for the Titans in the victory.
The Titans set season-bests with 16 caused turnovers, 44 shots and 10 assists. Detroit Mercy also tied a season-high with seven free-position goals. It was the third-straight game in which Detroit Mercy has tallied 12 or more caused turnovers.
Detroit Mercy held the shot advantage, 44-14, and controlled 15 of the 26 draw controls. Detroit Mercy helped force Delaware State into 20 turnovers and grabbed 23 ground balls. The Titans also went 13-of-16 on clears and 7-of-13 on free-position shots.
Kinmond surpassed the 60-point plateau for the second-straight season, while Pritchard and Girardi each reached the 40-point milestone for the first time in their careers. Plester became the seventh Titan this season with double-digit goals.
Detroit Mercy improved to 5-0 all-time against Delaware State, winning all five in the past five seasons.
