DELAND, Fla. (4/9/2017) -- Senior
Kelsi Pritchard tied a career-high with five points to become the ninth Titan in school history to reach 100 career points, but a late Titan run came up short as the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team fell, 14-12, on Sunday at Stetson.
Pritchard had five points for the second time in her career on the strength of two goals and three assists. Sophomores
Lexie Kinmond and
Morgan Girardi each added four goals for the Titans, who rallied late, scoring five of the final seven goals, including four straight.

Junior
Emma Mucci tied a school record with a career-best 10 draw controls and sophomore goalkeeper
Allison McDonough recorded 12 saves and was credited with a school-record 10 ground balls. Mucci helped spearhead a furious second-half run, winning six draw controls in the final 12 minutes of the game and four-straight in a 4-0 Detroit Mercy run late in the contest.
Stetson led 12-7 with 11:18 left when Mucci won the ensuing draw control, which was followed by a goal by junior
Jordyn Beam off a feed from Pritchard. Girardi followed with her fourth goal of the game and 29th of the season off another Pritchard assist. After yet another Mucci draw control, Kinmond scored to bring the Titans to within two, 12-10, with 9:07 remaining.
Just 31 seconds later, Pritchard scored a goal for her 100th career point, which also brough the Titans to within one, 12-11, with 8:36 left. It also forced Stetson into a timeout. Junior
Brittany Fenney won the next draw control, but Detroit Mercy's next shot attempt was saved and the Hatters regained control of the ball.
Following two goals by the Hatters, Kinmond scored with 3:31 left to pull Detroit Mercy to within two, 14-12. Mucci again won another draw control, but the Titans' next shot attempt was saved once again by the Hatters. It was the last offensive chance for the Titans in the contest.
The Titans opened the game on a 3-0 run with goals from Girardi, Kinmond and junior
Jessica Snyder. Sophomore attack
Emma Leszczak assisted on Snyder's goal for the Titans. McDonough made five saves early and Detroit Mercy held a 3-0 lead for seven minutes until Stetson scored its first at the 17:20 mark of the first half.
After Stetson took the lead, Girardi scored two goals in succession, completing a hat trick in the first half. The Hatters took a 7-5 halftime lead.
The game was very even on the stat sheet with Stetson holding the edge in shots, 33-32. Each team had 12 saves and 15 turnovers. The Titans were 15-of-17 on clears, while the Hatters were 18-of-22. The Titans had the advantage in draw controls, 15-13, and free-position shots, 11-7.
Pritchard continued her career season for the Titans, totaling four of her five points after halftime in reaching 100. She is the second Titan this season to surpass 100 career points with Kinmond doing so earlier in the season. Pritchard also surpassed the 30-point milestone for the first time in her career during the game and has 32 points this season.
Kinmond finished the game with five points, adding one assist. Her four goals tied a season-high. Pritchard added two caused turnovers and three ground balls, while junior
Brianna Plester had two caused turnovers and two ground balls. McDonough tallied 10 ground balls, surpassing the previous single-game school record of nine, held by former Titan Lexie McCormick.
Mucci tied a single-game, school-record for draw controls which was set last season by sophomore
Kaitlyn Wandelt. They are the only two players with 10 draw controls in school history. Mucci has 16 DC in the past two games and two of the top-three, single-game draw control totals in school history.
