DETROIT (1/5/2017) -- Five Titans scored in double figures and the red, white and blue cut an 18-point deficit down to just one, but the second half rally fell just short as the University of Detroit Mercy dropped an 80-73 contest to Wright State on Friday night.Â

Detroit Mercy (4-12, 0-3 HL) trailed by as many as 18 in the first half and 15 in the second, but trimmed it to just one point on a couple of occasions late in the game. A steal by Chatman and then a layup made it a 66-65 contest with 5:51 left and later on, a free throw from junior
Josh McFolley saw the Titans down by just one again, 70-69, with 3:59 remaining.
The Titans shot 45.8 percent from the field, but 4-of-19 from behind the arc and 15-of-25 at the free throw line, while Wright State (11-5, 3-0 HL) shot 45.3 percent with nine 3-pointers. Detroit Mercy did win the battle of the glass, 43-37, and forced 12 turnovers.Â
