BUFFALO, N.Y. (10/13/18) -- The University of Detroit Mercy had three harriers place in the top-12 in the Canisius Alumni Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore
Claire Kendell broke the top five, placing fifth overall in the race with a mark of 18:20, missing her personal record by only five seconds.
Also breaking the top-12 was
Veronica Towianski and
Kayla Hughes, who finished in eighth and eleventh respectively.
Towianski crossed the line in 18:58 and Hughes was just 10 seconds behind, crossing the line at 19:08. Both of those times were personal records for the harriers.
Sophomore
Rebecca Measel lowered her personal record to 20:13, followed closely behind by
Victoria Ostrander who also set a new PR with a time of 20:30 and
Sarah DeDolph was a mere twelve seconds behind finishing at 20:42.
This was the final tune-up before the Titans head to Kenosha, Wisc. for the Horizon League Championships on Oct. 27.

- Kendell claimed another top-five finish in her first full season and merely missed a new PR

- The Titans will now turn their attention to Oct. 27 when they will compete in the Horizon League Championships
