DETROIT (12/7/2018) -- The Holiday season is all about giving back and University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball special assistant to the head coach
Eric Devendorf and the Titan athletic department are looking to help those in need with a special coat drive.
Â
Devendorf along with the Titans are teaming with Street Cred.Det and Wealthy Clothing for this year's Detroit Winter Coat Drive. We will be looking to collect new and gently worn coats for men and women and boys and girls of all ages.Â
Â
"This is extremely important to all of us involved to get this to be the biggest coat drive we have ever had," said Devendorf. "We have all been blessed with so much and it's our way to try and help those in need."
Â
There will be two main drop-off locations that people can donate winter coats at the Street Cred Building (6340 East Jefferson, Detroit, MI, 48207) and at the Wealthy Store (8126 West 9 Mile Road, Oak Park, MI, 48237) along with the Titan home women's basketball game on Sunday, Dec. 9, against Western Michigan and Detroit Mercy men's basketball game versus Ohio on Saturday, Dec. 15. Both of those games tip off at 1 p.m.
Â
The coats will be distributed on Dec. 23 from 3-6 p.m. at the Street Cred Building, a business owned by local Detroiter and former college basketball standout and NBA player Jordan Crawford.Â
