DETROIT (7/12/2018) -- A member within the University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics for the past three years,
Chris Rossi was promoted to Business Manager, beginning his new roles within the department earlier this week.

John Hitchings, Director of Athletic Administration. "He is a very hard working individual who is familiar with the department as he spent time working here as an Operations Assistant. He has a business background and is a great fit for the Athletic Department."
Rossi has worked the past three academic school years as an Operations Assistant within the Detroit Mercy Athletic Department. He assisted with gameday operations, overseeing gameday workers and aiding in the scheduling and organization of athletic events for all of Detroit Mercy's 19 Division I athletic programs.
He spent three summers from 2016-18 working with the Detroit Pistons, assisting with the Pistons Academy summer basketball camps. Among his duties were supervising registration, lunch, the camp store and clean up of the gym.
Rossi was the sports coordinator at the
Carls Family YMCA in Milford from August 2017 through June 2018, where he ran all of the sports leagues and coached a variety of youth sports. Other volunteering work includes with the Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and the Greening of Detroit.
Rossi, a native of of Milford, Mich., received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University in 2015 and earned a Master of Arts in Sports Administration in 2017 from Wayne State University in Detroit.
