McCann Leads Titans At NCAA Great Lakes Regionals

MADISON, Wisc. (11/15/19) -- A couple of Titans posted their career 10 marks and two more were just outside the top 100 as the University of Detroit Mercy men's cross country team competed at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship on Friday afternoon.

The race took place in Madison, Wisconsin, on the Zimmerman Championship Cross Country Course with the Titans earning 25th with 693 points.

Leading the Titan pack was senior James McCann, who placed 112th in a time of 32:56, just missing his personal record in the 10k of 32:33 last season.

Following McCann was senior Scott Smith, who finished 119th in 32:59, drastically dropping time from his previous 10k time of 34:18 last year.

Sophomore Dakota Hundley was 144th in 33:40. Junior Thomas Mueller finished 155th with a career-best 33:54 and senior Adam Fraeyman placed 173rd in 34:49.

For Smith and Fraeyman, they became the 24th and 25th runners in school history to run in four NCAA regionals.

The Titans will now prepare for the 2019-2020  Indoor track and field season.
