CINCINNATI, Ohio (2/24/2019) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team dropped an 18-8 road contest at Cincinnati on a cold, windy day from Gettler Stadium in Cincinnati. It was the third road game in the first four games for the Titans in 2019.

Three Titans scored multiple goals in sophomore Kamryn Corraro, freshman Elise Harder and senior Lexie Kinmond, who also had a team-high three points. Junior Kaitlyn Wandelt and senior Morgan Girardi each added goals for the Titans in the setback.

The red, white and blue scored two goals in the early minutes of the game with Harder scoring off a free-position opportunity before Kinmond scooped up a ground ball in the eight-meter and then beating the Cincinnati goalkeeper. Kinmond and Wandelt would each add first-half goals, but the Bearcats led at the halftime break, 14-4.

Corraro opened the second half with a goal off a feed from Wandelt, but the Bearcats scored the next four goals to take an 18-5 lead. Girardi and Harder scored on back-to-back goals with under 10 minutes left in the game and Corraro scored her fourth of the season off a free-position chance to close out the scoring for the Titans.

Detroit Mercy put 22 of 25 shots on net (88 percent) as the shot on goal tally was even with the Bearcats also putting 22 shots on goal. The turnovers were also nearly even with the Titans turning it over 17 times, compared with 18 turnovers for the Bearcats.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Johnson made four saves in net for Detroit Mercy, playing the final 41 minutes of the contest. Corraro, Girardi and sophomore defender Sarah Lucas all each had two caused turnovers in the contest as Detroit Mercy notched nine as a team. The Titans had 26 ground balls, led by Corraro's five and Kinmond's four GB.

Cincinnati had the 17-11 edge in draw controls in the game with Harder and Wandelt each corralling four draw controls in the contest. The Bearcats had the advantage in saves (14-4) with Cincinnati GK Giuliana Durso turning away 13 shots in the contest.
