INDIANAPOLIS (11/5/2020) -- University of Detroit Mercy junior guard Antoine Davis picked up another preseason honor in an All-League selection as the Horizon League released its preseason men's basketball teams and poll on Thursday.

Davis - a two-time First Team All-HL selection - was named to the first team joining Wright State's Loudon Love, Green Bay's Amari Davis, Marcus Burk of IUPUI and Darius Quisenberry of Youngstown State.

Davis - who was already named a candidate for the Jerry West Award for the top shooting guard in the country - was the HL's leading scorer last season at 24.3 points per game, fourth in the nation. He became just the fourth player in league history to lead the conference in scoring twice and the third to do it in back-to-back years (Kendrick Perry, YSU, 2012, 2014; Rashad Phillips, Detroit Mercy, 2000, 2001; Keith Gailes, Loyola, 1990, 1991; Alfredrick Hughes, Loyola, 1983, 1984, 1985).

Davis drilled 101 trifectas during the 2019-20 campaign which was second in the HL and ninth in Division I, while his 3.37, 3-pointers per game was second in the league and seventh in the NCAA. He shot 90.1 percent at the free-throw line (154-of-171) to lead the conference and claim seventh in the country He also posted 4.5 assists per game for fourth in the HL and his 52 steals and 1.73 steals per game were both third in the league. 

The Titans were picked to finish ninth in the preseason poll with 185 points, ahead of Milwaukee, newcomer Purdue Fort Wayne and IUPUI. Wright State was picked as the league's favorite, while Youngstown State and Northern Kentucky rounded out the top three. 

The Horizon League schedule was released yesterday with the Titans opening league conference action at home in back-to-back weekends with games against Wright State (Dec. 19-20) and IUPUI (Dec. 26-27). The non-conference schedule will be released in the near future.
