BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (3/8/2020) -- University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse junior
Kamryn Corraro and senior
Kaitlyn Wandelt both tallied four points Sunday, but the Titans fell to host Gardner-Webb by a 20-9 margin. It was the Titans' third-straight road contest of the spring break trip.
Wandelt had three goals and one assist, while Corraro had two goals and two assists for the Titans (1-6). Sophomore
Elise Harder added two goals for the red, white and blue.
The Titans scored first in the game, with Wandelt scoring just 1:13 into the game. Detroit Mercy had a 3-2 lead early after Corraro and Wandelt added goals, but Gardner-Webb went on a run to earn an 11-4 halftime lead over the Titans.
Wandelt and Harder opened the second half with goals to cut the deficit to five, 11-6, but Detroit Mercy went on another run to take control of the contest. The Titans scored three of the final five goals of the contest with
Taryn McManus, Harder and Corraro all scoring for the red, white and blue in the final 8:08 of the game.
The Titans were out-shot in the contest, 32-22, and Gardner-Webb also had the advantage in saves, 11-7.

Hannah Shrader made four saves in the game, while junior goalkeeper
Maddie Johnson had three stops for the Titans.
