Jonathan Kliewer has been named the Nike® Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week. He is the first Titan to earn the defensive honor since
Devin Mendez was named it twice in 2019.
Kliewer posted two shutouts on the week as the Titans picked up a pair of wins to get themselves back in the playoff race, where the red, white and blue are still in the hunt for a first-round bye.
He started the winning streak with three saves in a 2-0 road win at Purdue Fort Wayne and came back with two more stops in a 2-0 victory over Milwaukee.
Kliewer now leads the league in GAA (.914) and save percentage (.789) and is tied for second with four shutouts.
Detroit Mercy will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 23, when the Titans host Robert Morris at 7:00 p.m.
