Titans Fall in Spring Season Finale at Cleveland State

CLEVELAND, Ohio (4/5/2021) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer program closed out its 2021 spring schedule on Monday, falling on the road to Cleveland State by a 7-0 margin from Krenzler Stadium in downtown Cleveland.

Freshman goalkeeper Jazmine Scott made her collegiate debut in the match for the Titans against the Vikings, totaling six saves. Senior Kelli Doyle, junior Julie Ann Piechocki and freshman Alexis McNeil all had shots in the contest for Detroit Mercy.

Cleveland State scored four goals before the halftime break, before adding three more in the second half. The Titans recorded three shots and three corner kicks.

The Titans finished their spring campaign with a record of 2-6-1, their second under head coach Steve Shelton, showing promise for seasons to come with several Titans making their collegiate debuts on the field this season for the red, white and blue and the Titans among the Horizon League leaders in shots per game.

Stay tuned for more information regarding the Titan women's soccer program throughout the spring and summer, entering the fall 2021 season.
