NASHVILLE, Tenn. (9/5/2021) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team found the back of the net twice in the first half of Sunday's road clash with host Belmont, but the Bruins scored two second half goals to edge the Titans, 3-2, from E.S. Rose Park in Nashville.

Tia Jokic erased a 1-0 Belmont lead, scoring off a penalty kick in the 25th minute of the match and then freshman
Erica Leinweber scored her second goal of the season in the 34th minute as the Titans held a 2-1 lead that would last until the halftime break.
The Bruins were able to find the back of the net with a goal in the 64th minute and then scored the game-winning marker with just seconds remaining in the match, scoring with 11 seconds left on the clock.
Detroit Mercy was credited with five shots, with all of them on goal. The red, white and blue played the final 26-plus minutes of the contest down a player after a red card was issued following the second Belmont goal.

The contest is set for a 7 p.m. ET start time and slated to be streamed live on the ACC Network Plus. The Titans close out a four-game road trip the following Thursday, Sept. 16, opening Horizon League play at Northern Kentucky.
