Daija Moses just missed a double-double with 11 points matching a season-high eight rebounds while going 5-for-6 from the free throw line and 3-for-6 from the field as Detroit Mercy dropped a Metro Series game to arch-rival Oakland, 80-50, on Thursday night.

Janna Lewis chipped in with eight points and two rebounds going 2-for-2 from the free throw line.
Detroit Mercy (0-17, 0-10 HL) could not overcome a slow first half performance which proved to be the difference. The Titans shot only 33% (3-for-9) in the first quarter and 25% (5-for-20) in the second quarter totaling 17 points.
Conversely, Oakland (8-8, 6-3 HL) took advantage shooting 53% (8-for-15) in the second quarter closing on a 15-4 run for a 40-17 halftime lead after outscoring the Titans 17-7 in the first quarter.
The Titans opened the third quarter with a quick 10 points cutting into the lead at 53-34 but couldn't pull any closer in the fourth quarter as the Golden Grizzlies pushed the lead to 30 points to close out the game.
Both teams will play again on Saturday, Jan. 22 at Calihan Hall at 2 p.m.
