For the second consecutive game, Detroit Mercy (2-10, 0-3 HL) struggled offensively. Conversely, Green Bay (10-3, 3-1 HL) set the tone defensively opening the game with a 19-0 run before Burch was able to convert a lay-up getting the Titans on the board. Murua then added another lay-up followed by a Fleta Robles 3-pointer. In addition to the defense, the Pheonix shot a blistering 70.6 percent from the field to take a 31-7 after the first.
Green Bay's offense continued to click on all cylinders in the second quarter shooting 50 percent finishing at a 60.6 percent clip for the half to take a commanding 49-13 lead at the half and never looked back.
The Titans scored 20 points (10 each quarter) in the second half but the deficit was too large to overcome.
