Detroit Mercy trailed by only eight points at the half despite YSU shooting 15-of-26 (57.7%) from the field and 5-of-10 (50%) from 3-point range led by 20 points from Akuchie.
Second Half:
Detroit Mercy had plenty of good looks from the field but could not get anything to fall while YSU opened the second half outscoring the Titans on a 16-9 spurt to move ahead by 13 points at 56-43 with 11 minutes left. Despite not making a 3-pointer at that point, Davis connected on five straight jumpers scoring 10 points pulling Detroit Mercy within 11 points at 69-58 with 3:09 remaining.
