Davis Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District® Honors, First In School History

DETROIT (2/17/2022) -- Antoine Davis has broken many school records along the way and now he can say he is the first again as the senior was named to the 2021‐22 CoSIDA Academic All‐District® 5 Men's Basketball Team, the first Titan men's basketball player to take home the honor in school history.

He is also the 31st Titan to ever receive CoSIDA Academic honors throughout all sports and was one of two Horizon League student-athletes to make the list joining Robert Morris' Kahliel Spear in District 2.

The 2021‐22 Academic All‐District® teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. First‐team Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second‐and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced in mid‐March.

The CoSIDA Academic All‐District® teams include the student‐athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada, with District 5 encompassing Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Ohio.

Davis holds a 3.39 GPA as a Communications major. In his time, he has also been a member of the Detroit Mercy's Athletic Director's Honor Roll and the Horizon League Spring Academic Honor Roll.

On the court, he is currently second in the nation in scoring at 23.4 points per game, fourth in 3-point field goals per game (3.95), sixth in minutes played per game (37:51) and total 3-pointers (87), 10th in total points (514), 23rd in free-throw percentage (88.8%), 40th in assists (5.0) and 79th in three-point field goal percentage (36.6%).

He recently moved himself to 49th all-time in the NCAA in scoring with 2,554 career points and is 19th all-time with 403 career 3-pointers.

Along with Davis in District 5 was Michigan's Hunter Dickinson, Michigan State's Malik Hall, Xavier's Jack Nunge, Toledo's JT Shumate and Ohio's Ben Vander Plas.

The Titans will be back in action tomorrow as they open a four-game homestand with NKU in a 7:00 p.m. tip on Dick Vitale Court.
