DETROIT (10/18/2023) -- The University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics is proud to announce that the 5th Annual City College Series DPS Benefit Game is set for Nov. 2 as the men's basketball team host city-rival Wayne State in an exhibition contest.
The game is scheduled to tip at 7:00 p.m., inside historic Calihan Hall. Tickets to the game will be just $2 (cash or credit card on game day), and all proceeds will go to Detroit Public Schools, K-5, with Michigan First Credit Union matching the proceeds.
This is the fifth time Detroit Mercy will play a game to give back to DPS. In 2022, Titan Athletics solicited donations online and in-person at all men's and women's home basketball games, which totaled $2,500, and the matching contribution gave the DPS Foundation $5,000.
In the history of the event, Titan Athletics and Michigan First have helped raise nearly $30,000 for DPS K-5 between ticket sales and matching contributions from the Credit Union.
