Freshman Elijah Jorgensen set a career 8k mark at the Horizon League Championship.
DETROIT (10/28/2023) -- Sophomore Joshua Otten again led the Titans with another sub-25-minute run as the University of Detroit Mercy men's cross country team competed in the Horizon League Championship on Saturday.

The Titans were 10th in the 8k race, held at Fairborn Community Park.

Otten continued his stellar rookie cross country season by taking 23rd in 24:56, nine seconds shy of his career mark and nine spots off Horizon League honors.

Freshman Christopher Russelburg was 59th in 26:10, while junior Kenny Lashaway finished in 71st with a run of 26:28.

Graduate senior Oscar Hernandez ran a season-best 26:43 for 75th, and freshman Elijah Jorgensen posted a PR of 26:51 for 79th.

Detroit Mercy will now get ready for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships in two weeks, Nov. 10, at the Zimmer Championship Course in Wisconsin.
