MADISON, Wisc. (11/10/2023) -- Sophomore
Joshua Otten ended his rookie cross country campaign with a run just outside the top 10 in school history as the University of Detroit Mercy men's cross country team wrapped up its season at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Friday.
The Titans were 30th with 857 points at the 10k Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course on the University of Wisconsin campus.
Otten ran 31:56 for 116th, the 11th-best 10k in school history and the best since 2018. It was also the second-best time by a rookie at the GLR, trailing only freshman Ben Kendell's 31:53 in 2014.
Freshman
Christopher Russelburg claimed 167th in 32:59, while graduate senior
Oscar Hernandez was 186th in 33:36 as he became the 28th Titan to run in four regional championships.
Junior
Kenny Lashaway was 195th in 34:02, while junior
Nicholas Fringer placed 200th in 34:33. Freshman
Elijah Jorgensen was 201st in 34:49 and senior
Kyle Foulk ran 35:03 for 205th.
That will wrap up the 2023 cross-country season as the runners turn their attention to the indoor track and field season.
