DETROIT (5/15/2023) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team has started to retool its roster for next season as the Titans have announced the signing of local star Ryan Hurst.

Hurst is a 6'3, 220-lb combo guard out of North Farmington High School.

"He is one of the top players in the state of Michigan," said head coach Mike Davis. "He has good size and has great potential with his skill and ability."

Hurst had a dominant senior season, averaging 22.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4. 0 assists and 3.0 steals per game. 

He finished fifth in the state for the Mr. Basketball award and was a Division 1 First Team All-State selection by the Detroit Free Press and the Detroit News. He was also named the Best of the Best by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan and a nominee for the Detroit High School Sports Boys Basketball Player of the Year.
