INDIANAPOLIS (8-22-23) –
The Horizon League office announced the Detroit Mercy women's basketball 2023-24 conference schedule which opens at Youngstown State (Nov. 30) followed by a Metro Series showdown against arch-rival Oakland (12/3) in conference home opening action at Calihan Hall.

The Horizon League has implemented an enhanced approach to its 2023-24 men's and women's basketball schedules in a major move for student-athletes and supporters that offers the competitive equity of a non-travel partner schedule while also offering the sustainability benefits of a travel-partner schedule contributing to a better student-athlete experience.

New model schedule benefits:
• Better student-athlete experience: minimizes missed class time and maximizes recovery time.
• More sustainability: keeping strategic geographic road trips to minimize travel costs.
• More competitive equity: a team's schedule is no longer dependent on former travel partner's facility conflicts; minimizes extended stretches of road games and time away from home.
• Basketball excellence: better positions League champion for an improved seed path; better positions student-athletes to play at peak performance throughout the entirety of League schedule.

New model schedule features:
• 20-game double-round robin
• 11-week schedule starting on Nov. 29 for up to two games and resuming on Dec. 28.
• Regular season finale (3/2)
• Opening rounds of Horizon League Basketball Championship (3/5 – 3/7).
• Semifinals and Championship games held at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Ind. (3/11 – 3/12).

After the holiday break, the Titans ring in 2024 with a New Year's Day battle against Northern Kentucky (1/1) at Calihan Hall. Detroit Mercy then travels to IUPUI (1/4) before returning home against Purdue Fort Wayne (1/7).

The Titans open a challenging two-game road swing at defending Horizon League champion Cleveland State (1/10) followed the Metro Series rematch at Oakland (1/13). UDM returns home for a two-game set beginning with Green Bay (1/18) and ending with Milwaukee (1/20) which is also the first leg of a doubleheader with the men's team who plays YSU.

The Red, White and Blue travel to Robert Morris (1/17) followed by a rematch against CSU (1/27) at Calihan Hall before ending the month of January at NKU (1/31).

Detroit Mercy opens the month of February at Wright State (2/2) before returning home for their second two-game home stand of the season against RMU (2/8) and YSU (2/10).
