Saeid Jannoun posted his first goal of the season off the first career assist from freshman
Drew Pierson as Detroit Mercy fell 5-1 in season-opening action at St. Mary's on Thursday night at Saint Mary's Stadium.
In the first half, Detroit Mercy (0-1) had quality scoring chances posting seven shots with three on goal but could not get on the board.
Conversely, St, Mary's (1-0) capitalized on their scoring chances posting goals in the 27th, 36th, and 38th minute to take a 3-0 lead.
After falling behind 5-0 in the second half, Jannoun was able to slip past the last defender down the right side in the 75th minute. He then took the feed from Pierson and fired a shot to the low left side putting the Titans on the board.
