John Nino each recorded a shot on goal as Detroit Mercy fell 6-0 at Marquette on Friday night at Valley Fields.
"We weren't good enough today defensively and as the head coach, I'm responsible for putting this team in a position to succeed," said
Nate Kopunek. "We missed the mark today and I'll take the blame as the leader of the team. We will return home, correct the mistakes as a team, and put a team out there on Tuesday at Notre Dame that is committed to competing for the entire match."

Quinn Tews made a season-high six saves while junior
Robby Spradlin III saw his first action of the season making three saves.
Marquette (3-0) struck early taking a 1-0 lead just two minutes into the game. The Titans (0-3) played the Golden Eagles even the rest of the half only trailing by a goal at halftime.
Marquette then took a 2-0 lead in the 53rd minute of the second half. Detroit Mercy continued to battle but could not get on the board. The Golden Eagles then pulled away getting goals in the 79th and 84th minute en route to the win.
Detroit Mercy concludes their four-game road swing at Notre Dame on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m.
