LOUISVILLE (10/5/2024) – Senior Nina Pizzo continued her strong season for the University of Detroit Mercy women's cross country team on Saturday at the Live in Lou Classic from EP Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky.

UDM finished 10th out of 24 scoring teams in the 5k Blue division with 301 points.

Pizzo earned a top-20 finish with a personal best 5k time of 18:47. This was her third-straight race setting a new career low and she also bested her time on the course by nearly three minutes from last season's 21.23 run.

Senior Evie Wright was the next Titan finisher in 62nd place, running 19:35.3, while freshman Sofia Figueroa made her debut for Detroit Mercy and was right behind Wright in 63rd place with a time of 19:35.5.

Junior Claire Hunt crossed the line in 83rd place with a personal best time of 19:53 and sophomore Helana Napiorkowski completed the scoring for the Titans in 96th place with a personal best time of 20:06.

UDM will have a week off before being back in action on Friday, Oct. 18 at the Falcon Invitational hosted by Bowling Green State University.
