BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (10-8-24) - Senior
Fisher Hudak had quite the breakout game, recording his first career goal while adding his first career assist on junior
Vincent Stockton's career goal in the second half as Detroit Mercy dropped a 5-2 non-conference match at Bowling Green on Tuesday night at Cochran Stadium. Junior
Tim Allos also added his first assist of the season on Hudak's tally.
"There is a lot to unpack from this game as it was a tale of two halves for us unfortunately again," said Head Coach
Nate Kopunek. "We had some good play in the first half but then we conceded. Our staff challenged the team at halftime and the response, effort, and mentality were exactly what we asked. We play these non-conference games to learn and prepare for Horizon League play. We will do just that as we shift focus to Saturday with an important home conference match against Milwaukee."
The first half of the game proved to be the difference as Bowling Green (9-2-1) jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the first 15 minutes. The Falcons posted another goal in the 24th minute and added two more tallies in the 33rd and 34th minute to take a commanding 5-0 into the half.
Detroit Mercy (1-8-2) chipped away at the lead in the second half as Hudak fired a shot that rang off the crossbar and right to Stockton who headed the ball into the back of the net getting the Titans on the board in the 74th minute.
Hudak would not be denied a second time as he added a tally just two minutes later. However, that would be as close as UDM would get. Redshirt sophomore
Quinn Tews kept BGSU off the board in the second half, making two saves in goal.
