Joshua Otten was in the top 35 and freshman
Ryan Belanger and sophomore
Christopher Russelburg joined him in the top 70 at the 45th running of Notre Dame's National Catholic Championships.
The three Titans in the top 70 propelled them to a seventh-place finish with 222 points on the 8k Burke Golf Course, besting Jesuit rivals Canisius and Marquette.
Otten was 34th in 25:15, taking more than a minute off of his 26:22 time at the race last season.
Belanger claimed 54th in 25:54 in his first-ever collegiate 8k race, while Russelburg registered 64th with a 26:19, more than 30 seconds better then his run last year.
Sophomore
Kenyon Popiel recorded a personal-best 26:48 to finish in 89th and freshman
Caleb Wynn was just behind him in 92nd in 26:52 in his 8k debut.
The Titans will now have a few weeks to prepare for their trip to Derby City on Oct. 5, when they will compete in the Greater Louisville Classic.
