Nina Pizzo turned in another PR to lead three Titans in the top 70 as the University of Detroit Mercy women's cross country team made its annual trip to Notre Dame for the 45th National Catholic Championships.
UDM recorded 243 points for ninth on the 5k Burke Golf Course.
For the second-straight week, Pizzo tallied a career low as she crossed the finish line in 19:24 for 53rd, a career-best by nearly 40 seconds and over a minute better than her time on the course last season.
Senior
Evie Wright ran 19:30 for 57th, 23 ticks ahead of last season, while freshman
Kirsten Koss was 59th in 19:31.
Junior
Claire Hunt clocked a career-best 20:05 for 77th, her career low by more than a minute from her 21:26 last week at Michigan, and freshman
Aubrey Mery came in at 20:24 for 84th, shaving 30 seconds from her collegiate debut at U-M.
Detroit Mercy will train for a few weeks before heading to Kentucky for the Greater Louisville Classic on Oct. 5.
