LOUISVILLE (10/3/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's cross country team saw a host of runners in the front pack en route to a team victory at the 25th Annual Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday.
Detroit Mercy had the runner-up finisher, three harriers in the top 10, four in the top 20, and five in the top 30 for 54 points - 10 more than San Diego - in the 6k Blue Race at E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park. T
It was the program's 13th win in Titan history and its first since winning the BSN Titan Invitational in 2022. It was also the first 6k race ever won by the women in school history.
UDM was led by junior
Kirsten Koss, who clocked a huge personal record with a time of 22:32 for second place, 30 seconds faster than her previous 6k mark and the best finish since Allison Sherman won it in 2022. The run was also tied for the 32nd-best run by a Titan in school history and the second-best 6k time at Louisville behind former teammate
Nina Pizzo's 22:00 last year.
Senior
Alaina Burns posted a career-best 22:51 for seventh, while freshman
Anna Kujansuu took eighth in 22:56.
Junior
Sofia Figueroa just missed a PR by one second, finishing 14th in 23:06. Senior
Helana Napiorkowski claimed 23rd in 23:33, and junior
Ana Lopez recorded a career-low 23:49 for 33rd.
The Titans also saw sophomore
Addie Stanley in the top 40 at 38th in 23:59.
Detroit Mercy will have an extra week of training before returning to action on Oct. 17 at the Canisius Alumni Classic.
