DETROIT (6/25/2026) -- It was a record-setting day inside historic Calihan Hall as the University of Detroit Mercy Athletic Department and the Titan Athletic Club hosted its annual Special Titans Basketball Camp on Wednesday.

In its 16th year, the event saw 105 campers on hand to learn the game of basketball with help from a host of volunteers, alumni, and student-athletes from the men's and women's basketball teams.

"We have been doing this for 16th years and every year, it has just got bigger and bigger," said camp director and former men's basketball alum Bernie Fuhs '03. "It was an electric atmosphere in here today. It is great to see the community come together for these kids to play a game that we all love."

The camp - open to any person with learning disabilities, age 10 & older - focused on learning and developing basketball skills.
