DETROIT (8/31/2026) -- For the first time since 2022, the great Tommy Titan will be putting on his running shoes as the Tommy Titan Vs. W The Warrior Cross Country Classic returns to Cass Benton Park on Sept. 12.

The cross country meet, set on the famous course in Northville, Michigan, will feature the women's 5k at 10:00 a.m., the men's 4-mile at 10:45, and the Tommy Titan vs. W The Warrior kids' race for kids 9 and under, ending the event at 11:25.

The event is free to all. 

The meet will feature the co-host Detroit Mercy and Wayne State, Cleary, Michigan Dearborn, Rochester Christian, and Muskegon Community College, along with a few Titan Legend squads. 

Detroit Mercy hosted the annual Tommy Titan Invitational at Cass Benton Park from 1987 until 2022. 

Nicole Edwards of Michigan holds the 5k course record with a 17:19 in 2009, while UDM's Ben Kendell holds the men's 4-mile mark with a 19:39 in 2018.
