DETROIT (9/16/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team has announced that graduate assistant AJ Bollis '26 has been promoted to Director of Basketball Operations. 

Bollis has been with the Titans since head coach Mark Montgomery arrived at UDM and has helped the Titans rise from a one-win team to a program that was one game away from reaching the NCAA tournament. He has helped with player development, travel arrangements, recruiting efforts and day-to-day operations. 

"AJ has been a big part of the coaching staff and this program," said coach Montgomery. "His dedication, passion, energy, and commitment have been evident since day one, and I am excited to see him continue to grow on this staff."

Before UDM, he spent two years as a graduate assistant and head varsity reserve coach at the University of Dubuque, was a student assistant coach at Graceland University from 2021-22, and at the University of Michigan-Dearborn from 2019-2021. While at Michigan, he also served as the freshmen boys' coach and assistant varsity coach at Belleville High School in 2021, helping both teams win conference championships.

The 2026-27 full schedule is now out and individual and season tickets are now on sale.
