2017-18
  • Selected All-Horizon League Second Team
  • Went 17-13 in singles, mostly from No. 2
  • Went 17-7 in doubles, T-3rd most doubles wins in a single season season in program history
  • Was 15-3 in doubles playing with Soskic, including a 7-0 mark in HL play 
  • Soskic and Ponton won 10-straight doubles matches from Mar. 18 to Apr. 28 - including wins over Louisville, IUPUI, UIC, Marquette, Green Bay, Cleveland State, YSU, NKU, Wright State and Green Bay 
  • As a squad, the 2018 Titans broke the school record for wins in a season (15) and advanced to the HL Championship for the first time in program history
  • 3x HL Doubles Team of the Week - 4/24/18, 4/10/18 and 3/27/18

2016-17
  • Led the team with 20 singles wins (T-4th most in single season program history)
  • Went 20-8 in singles and 5-2 in HL play, mostly from No. 3
  • Went 12-14 overall in doubles and 4-2 in HL play, mostly from No. 1

2015-16
  • Second on the team with 10 wins in singles and tied for the team-lead with four singles wins in Horizon League play, mostly from the second position
  • Went 7-9 from No. 2 and 1-1 from the top line of singles
  • Added five doubles wins on the season, including a 2-3 mark during HL play
  • Posted a pair of wins over Second Team All-Horizon League selections in Northern Kentucky’s Jody Maginley and Cleveland State’s Mirko Radosevic…
  • Won four straight singles matches at No. 2 over Youngstown State, Cleveland State, Northern Kentucky and UIC

2014-15
  • Selected All-Horizon League Second Team
  • Ended the year tied for second on the team with a 10-7 record in singles, including a 4-2 record in the Horizon League, mostly at No. 2
  • Also second on the team with eight doubles victories and was 3-3 in the HL, all at No. 2
  • Defeated HL First-Teamer in Green Bay’s Gomez Islinger, 7-6, 6-2, at No. 2
  • Totaled a 4-3 record in the fall going 2-2 in singles and 2-1 in doubles

Prior to Detroit: Played tennis for 13 years and also played six years of Australian League Football… He won a state championship in tennis as a prep and won the Challenge Cup in club tennis in 2013, the highest grade for senior tennis… Played club tennis with Eildon Park Tennis Club for six years.
 
Personal: Sue and Daran Ponton... Has an older sister... Chose Detroit because it provided great academic opportunities… A Business major.
