Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Gifts to Titan Athletics
Why should I give to Detroit Titan Athletics?
Financially supporting Titan Athletics is a great way that someone who cares about our students athletes can make a difference in their academic and athletic pursuits. Our goal is to provide the best experience possible in every aspect for the more than 300 UDM student-athletes, who boast a graduation success rate of 92%, the second-highest rate in the State of Michigan (89) among the dozen schools that offer athletic programs at the Division I level.Â
Is my gift to Titan Athletics tax-deductable?
Yes – Detroit Titan Athletics is under the umbrella of the University of Detroit Mercy, a 501c (3) organization and charitable gifts to Titan Athletics are tax deductable in accordance with IRS guidelines. It is always recommended that you check with your tax preparer to determine if any of the benefits you receive affects the amount you can deduct.
I have a few favorite sports that I like to follow – can I direct my financial support to them?
Absolutely! When you make a gift starting with a $500 minimum, you are automatically enrolled as a member in the Titan Club. However, you can choose how you would like your contribution to be used: for the Titan Club itself, in support of your favorite sport, or you can direct it to the general athletic fund where it can be put in the area of greatest need.
