SATURDAY RECAP - NEBRASKA CAPTURES 2013 NCAA WOMEN’S BOWLING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AT SUPER BOWL LANES IN CANTON, MICH.
CANTON (4/13/13) – Nebraska took home the crown at the 2013 NCAA Women's Bowling Championships, defeating Vanderbilt, 4.5-2.5 at Super Bowl Lanes in Canton, Mich. Saturday. The Cornhuskers rebounded from a two-games-to-one deficit to win their fourth title overall.
Nebraska grabbed the early lead with a 211-199 win in the opening game but Vanderbilt answered with a 197-186 win in game two. The Commodores then continued with a 169-156 win in game three. The two teams then split the fourth game 190-190, before Nebraska roared back with back-to-back victories in the sixth (196-189) and seventh (246-200) games to clinch its fourth title.
The championship finals will re-air on ESPN Sunday, April 14 from 2-3:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

FRIDAY RECAP - UNDEFEATED NEBRASKA AND VANDERBILT TO MEET IN 2013 NCAA BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

CANTON (4/12/13) – For the first time since 2010 two undefeated teams reached the NCAA Women¹s Bowling Championship final as both top-seeded Nebraska and seventh-seeded Vanderbilt advanced after winning three-straight matches on Friday at Super Bowl Lanes.
Nebraska opened its trip to the final with a 4-1 win over eight-seeded Central Missouri, before topping fifth-seeded Maryland Eastern Shore and sixth-seeded Arkansas State by the same mark.
Vanderbilt advanced with an opening round upset over second-seeded Fairleigh Dickinson 4-2, before taking out sixth-seeded Arkansas State (4-3) and fifth-seeded Maryland Eastern Shore (4-3).
The championship final will air on ESPNU Saturday, April 13 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Limited tickets are available and can be purchased at Super Bowl Lanes. A tape delay broadcast of the championship finals will air on ESPN Sunday, April 14 from 2 - 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
THURSDAY RECAP - NEBRAKSA LEADS AFTER DAY ONE OF THE 2013 NCAA WOMEN’S BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP
CANTON (4/11/13) – Three-time champion Nebraska leads the field of eight teams after the qualifying rounds of the 2013 NCAA Women's Bowling Championship at Super Bowl Lanes in Canton, Mich.
The three-day tourney began Thursday with all eight teams playing each other to determine seeds for Friday's bracketed double-elimination Baker-format competition. The Cornhuskers went 5-2 on the day and grabbed the top seed for Friday with a higher pinfall than Fairleigh Dickinson and Sam Houston State. Both also finished 5-2 on the day.
Bracket play begins tomorrow at 11:40 a.m. and the matchups are as followed:
No. 1 Nebraska vs. No. 8 Central Missouri
No. 2 Fairleigh Dickinson vs. No. 7 Vanderbilt
No. 3 Sam Houston State vs. No. 6 Arkansas State
No. 4 Wisconsin-Whitewater vs. No. 5 Maryland Eastern Shore
In the Baker format, each of the five team members, in order, bowls a complete frame until a complete (10-frame) game is bowled. A Baker match tied 3½ games to 3½ games after seven games will be decided by a tiebreaker using the Modified Baker format.
