Tanya Carper

Tanya Carper has been the head Cheer Team coach at the University of Detroit Mercy since 2002.
 
Carper has been coaching cheer since 1993 spending two years at Lakeview High School and nine years at Henry Ford II High School. 
 
She currently works at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital as an Emergency/Trauma nurse and graduated from UDM in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
 
While at UDM, Carper spent four years on the cheerleading team and was a three-time captain during her sophomore, junior and senior season. She also was named to the National Cheerleading Association All-American team as junior and senior.
