    Men's Basketball Graduate Assistant
DJ Ferguson joined the Detroit Mercy men’s basketball program as a graduate assistant in 2026-27.

He served as an assistant coach at his alma mater Kalamazoo College last season, where he helped mentor student-athletes to a team GPA of 3.67 while emphasizing academic success and personal development. He assisted with practice planning, scouting reports, game preparation, and player development initiatives. Ferguson also supported recruiting operations through prospect evaluations, campus visits, and recruiting trail assessments.

He is the founder of Ferg Factory Basketball Skills Training, where he has trained more than 100 athletes. He also worked as a player development intern with Impact Basketball in summer 2026, assisting with NBA Pre-Draft workouts and supporting NBA draft prospects through skill development sessions and on-court training.

Ferguson played four years of collegiate basketball, spending his first two years at Heidelberg before transferring to Kalamazoo College for his last two seasons. He helped the Hornets to 10 wins each season, the most by the program since 2013-14, and was third on the team in made 3-pointers as a senior and was tabbed the Most Improved Player. He was also a member of the NABC Honors Court.

A Lansing, Michigan, native, Ferguson lettered in basketball at Lansing Catholic High School

He graduated from Kalamazoo with a degree in Business in 2025 and is enrolled as a MBA student at UDM.
