William Patsalis

William Patsalis joined the Detroit Mercy men's basketball program as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2023.

No stranger to Detroit, he was a team manager and undergraduate assistant for the men's basketball team at Wayne State from 2019-22 before serving as an assistant coach at Macomb Community College last season.

At Wayne State, he was part of a program that made the NCAA Midwest Regional in 2021 and helped develop three GLIAC All-Conference performers in Avery Lewis, Brailen Neely and Darian Owens-White. At MCC, he helped the team to its first-ever national championship appearance and runner-up effort, the second NJCAA Region XII title in school history, and the program's first MCCAA championship. The Monarchs set a school record tallying a 28-8 overall record, was ranked in the top-11 all season long and featured an NJCAA Division II All-American, just the third in school history.

Patsalis graduated from Wayne State in 2022 with a degree in Sports Management and is currently pursuing his MBA.
